Metro53 - A tragic cylinder explosion occurred at a wedding house in Sector G-7/2, Aabpara, Islamabad, resulting in the deaths of eight people, including the bride and groom, while seven others were injured.
According to police, the explosion took place around 2:00 am after the wedding procession arrived at the house. The blast caused the building to collapse, trapping several people under the debris. Six people, including the bride and groom, lost their lives at the scene.
Police said the bodies and injured were shifted to the hospital, where two more injured later succumbed to their wounds, raising the death toll to eight.
Police further stated that a wedding function was underway in the house when the cylinder exploded. The blast occurred at 66 Quarters, Street No. 23, affecting four houses in total.
Rescue officials reported that three neighboring houses were also damaged due to the explosion, and rescue operations are still ongoing at the site.
Upon receiving information, district administration officials reached the scene. Additional Deputy Commissioner General stated that the exact cause of the explosion will be determined after the completion of rescue operations.
