Gujrat Police Crack Down on Kite Mafia, Three Arrested, Kites Seized

Metro53 - Gujrat (Web Desk):Gujrat Police have intensified operations against kite sellers, manufacturers, and flyers across the district. Following special directives from DPO Gujrat Rana Umar Farooq, raids were conducted in various areas, resulting in the arrest of three suspects and the seizure of a large number of kites and strings. Police stated that these operations will continue

According to details, under the supervision of DSP Sarai Alamgir Circle Dr. Mumtaz Ahmed Mekan, SHO City Sarai Alamgir Aftab Rasool and ASI Muzammil Hafeez led a police team that arrested Safe Khan, son of Murad Khan, resident of Mamazpur. A significant quantity of kites was recovered from his possession, and legal proceedings have been initiated.

Similarly, under the supervision of DSP City Circle Rai Sarfaraz Yousuf, SHO Police Station Daultnagar Inspector Sajjad Azam and his team conducted another operation, arresting Ahmed Raza and Hasan Ali. Kites and kite-flying strings were recovered from their possession. Authorities warned that the seized strings could have been lethal, posing severe risks to citizens, particularly children and motorcyclists.

Police officials confirmed that separate cases have been registered against all three suspects and further investigations are ongoing to expose the full network of kite-selling and kite-flying operations. DPO Gujrat emphasized that kite flying is a dangerous and potentially fatal activity, and no leniency will be shown to those involved.

The police have also appealed to parents to prevent their children from participating in illegal and hazardous kite flying, which is not only punishable under the law but also responsible for the loss of precious lives every year. Gujrat Police reaffirmed their commitment to continue operations relentlessly until this menace is completely eradicated.
