Metro53 - Tripoli – Saif al-Islam Gaddafi, son of former Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi, has been killed, confirmed by close family sources.
According to Arab media, four individuals were involved in the attack. Saif al-Islam was shot in a garden, after which the assailants fled the scene.
Libya’s official news agency LANA, citing his adviser Abdullah Osman, confirmed his death.
Saif al-Islam had long been considered his father’s political successor. He had announced his intention to participate in the 2021 presidential elections, which were later postponed indefinitely.
