Metro53 - Gujrat (Web Desk): The Green Town police post, operating under Civil Lines Police Station, carried out a successful operation against criminal elements, arresting a two-member motorcycle theft gang and two drug dealers in separate actions.
According to police, the operations were conducted on the directives of Rana Umar Farooq, with supervision by Zafar Iqbal. SHO Civil Lines Zaigham Abbas, along with his team and In-charge Green Town Post Naveed Ashraf, led the crackdown against motorcycle thieves.
During the operation, police arrested the notorious Shehzad alias Shehzado gang. The arrested suspects were identified as Shehzad alias Shehzado, son of Muhammad Azam, and Kamran, son of Muhammad Javed, residents of Qudrat Abad Mohalla, Basti Wazirabad. Police recovered four stolen motorcycles and various motorcycle parts from their possession, which were taken into custody for legal proceedings.
In a separate action against drug peddlers, police arrested Danish, son of Nawazish, a resident of Mohmanda, and recovered five liters of liquor from him. Another suspect, Hammad Afzal, son of Muhammad Afzal, a resident of Chah Budha, Gujrat, was arrested with one and a half liters of locally made liquor. Cases have been registered against both suspects under relevant laws, and further investigation is underway.
Police officials stated that the crackdown against criminal elements will continue across the district and assured that indiscriminate action will be taken to ensure the safety of citizens’ lives and property.
