Metro53 - GUJRAT (Web Desk): Under the vision of women empowerment by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, Gujrat Police has introduced a significant facility for female personnel. A modern ladies lounge has been established at the DPO Complex Gujrat under the leadership of DPO Rana Umar Farooq.
The facility was formally inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Noor-ul-Ain Qureshi, while Additional Deputy Commissioner General Saba Sahar also attended the ceremony. The guests appreciated the initiative, calling it a positive and welcome step for women police officers.
Addressing the ceremony, speakers said the lounge would provide a safe, dignified, and comfortable environment for female personnel, enabling them to perform their duties more effectively. They termed the project a practical example of the government’s commitment to empowering women.
According to the DPO Gujrat, the purpose of establishing the ladies lounge is to ensure a supportive environment where the privacy of female staff is respected. The facility includes arrangements for sitting, waiting, offering prayers, and reading.
He further stated that the initiative is important for the welfare of women police officers and will also enhance their professional capabilities. Gujrat Police reaffirmed its commitment to continue introducing better facilities for women in the future.
