Metro53 - LAHORE (Web Desk): Renowned Pakistani actor Shaan Shahid has said that people tend to forget Indian songs within a week.
Speaking at a film event where he celebrated the success of his Punjabi film Bhalla, Shaan Shahid also highlighted Pakistan’s rich musical heritage. He said that Qawwali is a spiritual and cultural tradition that still lives in the hearts of people today.
He added that Qawwali is a beautiful genre and needs to be introduced more widely across the world, urging the government to take steps for its promotion.
Shaan Shahid further stated that although a large amount of music is produced in India, its melodies do not match Pakistan’s standards and are quickly forgotten. In contrast, he said, Pakistani music has a lasting impact, and Qawwali remains a timeless legacy passed down through generations.
