Metro53 - Lahore (Web Desk): Social media users have come out in support of Meera after video clips from her recent interview with Irshad Bhatti went viral on Sunday during the promotion of her new film Psycho.
In the film, she stars alongside Shaan Shahid, Sonya Hussyn, and Javed Sheikh. The viral clip is taken from the beginning of Bhatti’s podcast, which was released the same day. The film’s writer and director, Shaan Shahid, was also present during the podcast with Meera.
Typically, such interviews focus on films, past work, and upcoming projects. However, this was not the case. Irshad Bhatti used the opportunity to question Meera about rumors related to her marriage and personal life.
In the viral clip, Bhatti can be seen repeatedly asking what many viewers described as inappropriate questions, while Meera responded calmly, repeatedly suggesting that audiences watch her film instead.
Social media users criticized Bhatti’s behavior, with many calling it “harassment.” A large number of users on X expressed support for Meera, praising her patience and restraint. One user commented that it was her grace that she simply continued the interview, while others said stronger action could have been taken.
Several users also expressed solidarity with the actress and promised to watch her film Psycho in cinemas.
