Metro53 - Washington: A female American student has been arrested after allegedly posting a message involving Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and a university-related bomb threat.
According to reports from Florida, the student shared a message in a WhatsApp group stating: “Netanyahu, if you can hear my voice, drop some bombs for us at the Ocean Bank Convocation Center.”
Authorities said the message was interpreted by university officials and law enforcement agencies as a potential threat, prompting immediate action and the student’s arrest.
Police stated that the message was considered a possible threat against a university or public gathering venue. The group reportedly consisted of around 215 students discussing an upcoming university event.
Under US law, threatening messages related to educational institutions, public places, or students are taken very seriously, even if intended as a joke or satire.
Reports suggest that if the charges are proven, the student could face up to 15 years in prison.
