Metro53 - GUJRAT: The University of Gujrat organised a prestigious prize distribution ceremony to commemorate the historic success of “Marka-e-Haq” on May 10, 2025, recognising students for their outstanding performance, patriotism and national spirit.
The ceremony was attended by Akhtar Farooq as the chief guest. He was welcomed by the university registrar, Muhammad Naeem Butt, and Deputy Director Sports Nasira Parveen.
Among those present at the event were Syndicate Member Overseas Pakistanis Tariq Mahmood Sheikh, Dean Professor Dr Faisal Mahmood Mirza, senior faculty members, students and other distinguished guests.
Participants paid tribute to the values of national unity, sacrifice, courage and patriotism during the ceremony.
Addressing the gathering, Akhtar Farooq appreciated the patriotic spirit of the youth and said promoting unity, discipline, national awareness and a sense of responsibility among students was the need of the hour.
He added that educational institutions were not limited to imparting education alone but also played a key role in promoting positive thinking, moral values and love for the country.
During the event, shields, certificates and prizes were distributed among students who showed outstanding performance in various sports and co-curricular competitions organised under the “Marka-e-Haq” programme.
The ceremony concluded with special prayers for Pakistan’s peace, stability, development and prosperity
