Metro53 - MUMBAI: Shadab Khan, son of late Bollywood actor Amjad Khan, has revealed that an underworld-linked individual once offered to help recover millions in unpaid dues owed to his father by members of the film industry.
Speaking during a recent interview, Shadab Khan claimed that more than Rs127 million remained unpaid to his father by several filmmakers and producers. He said repeated attempts to recover the money had failed despite continuous demands.
According to Shadab Khan, the offer came shortly after his father’s death, when a person allegedly associated with the underworld contacted the family and claimed the outstanding amount could be recovered within days.
However, he said his mother refused the proposal, maintaining that Amjad Khan had never sought favours from the underworld during his lifetime and that the family did not wish to accept such assistance.
Shadab Khan further stated that his father had forgiven certain debts during his career, but added that some individuals failed to return the money despite being financially capable of doing so.
Amjad Khan remains one of Bollywood’s most celebrated actors and is still widely remembered for his iconic role as “Gabbar” in the film Sholay. Over the course of his career, he appeared in more than 130 films and earned recognition as one of the industry’s leading villain actors.
