Metro53 - WASHINGTON: US President Donald Trump has announced that he will not attend his son’s wedding, citing official responsibilities and the current national situation as the reason behind his decision.

In a statement, Trump congratulated his son and his fiancée, Bettina, saying he wished to be with his family on the joyous occasion but pressing state matters required his presence at the White House.

“My love for America and the demands of state affairs require me to remain at the White House,” Trump said, adding that he was unable to attend the ceremony due to his governmental commitments.

According to US media reports, Donald Trump Jr.’s wedding ceremony is scheduled to take place this week on a small island in the Bahamas, with only close family members and a limited number of friends expected to attend.
