Metro53 - GUJRAT: A fire broke out in a medicine storage facility at the District Headquarters (DHQ) Aziz Bhatti Shaheed Hospital on Sunday, prompting an immediate response from rescue teams who successfully contained the blaze before it could spread further.
According to initial reports, the fire erupted in a pharmaceutical warehouse located on the third floor above the hospital's labour room. Officials said the incident was apparently caused by a short circuit, which led to heavy smoke filling the storage area.
Rescue personnel rushed to the scene shortly after receiving the alert and launched a firefighting operation. Authorities said the fire was brought under control in a timely manner, preventing significant damage to adjoining sections of the hospital.
Following the firefighting efforts, rescue teams carried out cooling and ventilation operations to eliminate any risk of reignition. Medicines and other stored items were safely removed from the warehouse as a precautionary measure.
Hospital and rescue officials confirmed that no casualties or injuries were reported in the incident.
