Acting on the directives of Deputy Commissioner Mir Raza Ozgen, District Officer Industries Engineer Umar Farooq Aziz visited various areas of Jhelum to review the implementation of weights and measures regulations and assess facilities being provided to consumers.
According to the district administration and the Industries Department, the “Sacha Kanda” centers have been set up at major commercial hubs to enable citizens to verify the weight of purchased goods and report any discrepancies or unfair trade practices.
The department said the facilities have been established at MCC Mart on GT Road Jhelum, Sweet Palace on Railway Road, Model Colony, and Islam Pura, Civil Lines Jhelum (opposite Gymkhana). These centers are intended to provide consumers with easy access to reliable weight verification services.

He added that strict enforcement of regulations was essential to maintaining public trust and fostering a fair business environment.
