Metro53 - GUJRAT: Despite being among the leading districts in terms of development funds and resource allocation, Gujrat has been ranked 24th in the Punjab government’s latest performance evaluation of deputy commissioners for April 2026.

According to the provincial administration’s monthly ranking report, Deputy Commissioner Gujrat, Noor-ul-Ain, secured the 24th position across Punjab with a score of 88.39 points.

The performance rankings, issued by the Punjab government, assess deputy commissioners on a range of administrative indicators, including governance, public service delivery, implementation of development projects, revenue collection, price control measures and overall district management.

The report has drawn attention as Gujrat remains one of Punjab’s prominent districts in terms of available funds and development resources, yet its administrative performance ranking did not place it among the province’s top-performing districts.

Officials have not yet issued a detailed explanation regarding the district’s ranking, while the evaluation is expected to serve as a benchmark for improving governance and administrative efficiency across Punjab.

The provincial government regularly releases performance scorecards to monitor district administrations and encourage better public service delivery through competition and accountability among deputy commissioners.
