Metro53 - GUJRAT: Police in Sarai Alamgir claimed to have solved a house burglary case by arresting the suspect and recovering stolen gold jewellery along with a weapon allegedly used in the crime.
According to a police spokesperson, the operation was carried out by the Saddar Sarai Alamgir Police as part of an ongoing crackdown against criminal elements in the area.
The burglary had taken place a few days earlier in Qasba Karyali within the jurisdiction of Saddar Sarai Alamgir police station, where valuables and gold ornaments were stolen from a residential house. Following the incident, police registered a case and launched an investigation.
The spokesperson said that the Station House Officer (SHO) and his team employed modern investigative techniques and professional policing methods to trace and arrest the suspect, identified as Shamrooz Asif, within a short period.
During the investigation, police recovered the stolen gold jewellery on the suspect’s identification and also seized a weapon allegedly used during the commission of the offence.
Police officials said further investigation is underway and expressed hope that additional disclosures regarding other criminal activities may emerge during the interrogation of the suspect.
District police authorities reiterated their commitment to protecting the lives and property of citizens, adding that operations against criminal elements would continue without discrimination. They also urged the public to report suspicious activities to law enforcement agencies to help prevent crime and maintain public safety.
