Metro53 - ISLAMABAD: Noreen Khan Niazi, sister of former prime minister Imran Khan, strongly criticised the judiciary after Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) worker Zeeshan Gul Sethi was acquitted posthumously, saying the verdict had deepened the party's distrust of the judicial system.
Speaking to reporters outside Adiala Jail, Noreen Niazi said Zeeshan Gul Sethi, a PTI worker from Gujrat, had been acquitted only after his death, despite previously being convicted by the court.
She alleged that Sethi had appeared before the court on a stretcher during earlier proceedings and claimed the judge had insisted he be brought before the court in that condition.
"The judge should seek forgiveness from his family and resign from office," she said, adding that judges were delivering decisions based on instructions rather than dispensing justice.
Noreen Niazi further alleged that judicial decisions were being influenced externally and said those responsible would ultimately be held accountable.
The judiciary has not issued any response to Noreen Niazi's remarks.
