Metro53 - Gujrat: Punjab's Minister for Industries and Commerce, Chaudhry Shafay Hussain, and Deputy Commissioner Gujrat Noor-ul-Ain Qureshi met a high-level government and business delegation from Loudi City, Hunan Province, China, to explore opportunities for industrial cooperation, trade, investment, and technology exchange.
The Chinese delegation included officials from the Loudi Municipal People's Government, Municipal Bureau of Commerce, Municipal Bureau of Finance, CCPIT Loudi Branch, People's Government of Loushing District, and the Municipal People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries. Representatives from the private sector, including Hunan Jinsong Machinery and Sunovo Electric Appliance Co. Ltd., also attended the meeting.
During the session, Deputy Commissioner Noor-ul-Ain Qureshi presented a comprehensive overview of Gujrat district, highlighting its industrial potential, investment opportunities, business-friendly environment, historical and cultural heritage, tourism, infrastructure, and ongoing development projects.
The Chinese delegation showcased Loudi City's economic and industrial strengths through a special presentation, outlining its development achievements and investment prospects.
Both sides agreed that significant opportunities exist for cooperation between Gujrat and Loudi in the fields of industry, trade, investment, technology, and economic development. They expressed confidence that stronger collaboration would benefit both regions.
The visiting delegation appreciated Gujrat's industrial growth, favourable business climate, and the initiatives taken by the district administration, while expressing keen interest in expanding future cooperation across multiple sectors.
Speaking on the occasion, Provincial Minister Chaudhry Shafay Hussain said that several Chinese companies had already invested billions of rupees in Punjab, with more firms planning to establish operations in the province. He noted that Punjab's Special Economic Zones offer attractive incentives and considerable opportunities for foreign investors.
The minister further said that several cooperation agreements were signed during his visits to China, with implementation already underway on four of them. He added that there is substantial potential for institutional and economic collaboration between Gujrat and Loudi, and practical measures would be taken to strengthen bilateral ties.
The ceremony concluded with Chaudhry Shafay Hussain and Deputy Commissioner Noor-ul-Ain Qureshi presenting commemorative shields to members of the Chinese delegation.
