Metro53 - GUJRAT: Three children were killed after the roof of a house collapsed during heavy rainfall in the Karyanwala, Boorwala Mohalla area of Gujrat on Sunday, rescue officials said.
According to Rescue 1122, the roof of a room, constructed with wooden beams, caved in due to the intense rain, trapping three children beneath the debris.
Rescue teams rushed to the scene and pulled the children from the rubble before shifting them to a nearby hospital. However, all three succumbed to their injuries.
The deceased were identified as Falak Sher (13), Ali (11), both sons of Aslam, and Iman (15), daughter of Aslam.
The incident highlights the risks posed by heavy monsoon rains and the vulnerability of structurally weak houses in the region. Local authorities have urged residents to take precautionary measures as wet weather continues.
