Metro53 - GUJRAT: A promising kabaddi player from the Pir Jand area of Gujrat has died after allegedly being poisoned, according to claims made by his family and local residents.
The deceased, Qasim Gujjar, was regarded as a talented kabaddi player who had earned recognition across the Gujranwala Division for his performances and was also remembered for his good character and sportsmanship.
According to allegations circulating among relatives and residents, Qasim was reportedly invited by acquaintances and was allegedly served a juice containing poison. These claims have not been independently verified, and authorities have not yet publicly confirmed the cause of death.
His family has called for a transparent and impartial investigation, urging law enforcement agencies to establish the facts. They have demanded that, if any criminal involvement is proven through the investigation, those responsible should be brought to justice in accordance with the law.
Qasim's body was brought to his native village, where scenes of grief were witnessed. His funeral prayers were offered in the presence of a large number of relatives, friends, local residents, and members of the sporting community.
