Metro53 - MANDI BAHAUDDIN: Four Pakistani nationals, including two brothers from Punjab's Mandi Bahauddin district, were killed after unidentified gunmen opened fire on their vehicle in South Africa, according to international media reports.
The victims were reportedly returning home after closing their shop when armed assailants intercepted their vehicle and opened indiscriminate fire. All four men died at the scene before emergency responders could provide assistance.
Reports said three of the deceased belonged to Mandi Bahauddin district, including the two brothers from the village of Ballar, while the fourth victim was a resident of Sialkot.
Local authorities and emergency personnel reached the scene shortly after the incident and shifted the bodies following initial procedures.
South African police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the attack. Authorities are examining multiple possibilities, including personal enmity, attempted robbery, or other motives, but the exact reason behind the shooting has not yet been determined.
Separately, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz expressed grief over the deaths of the four Pakistani citizens and extended her condolences to the bereaved families. She prayed for the departed souls and for strength and patience for their loved ones.
