Metro53 - GUJRAT: Federal Minister Chaudhry Salik Hussain inaugurated the Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain Ladies & Children Park in Kunjah, Gujrat.
Deputy Commissioner Gujrat Noor-ul-Ain Qureshi, Assistant Commissioner Abdul Qadeer Zarkoon, and other officials were also present at the inauguration ceremony.
Speaking on the occasion, Chaudhry Salik Hussain said the park was established in response to a long-standing public demand. He said that, given the growing population of Kunjah, there was a need for recreational and healthy activity facilities for women and children.
The park features a walking track, landscaped lawns, benches, outdoor gazebos, children's swings, a fountain, lighting, a library, and other public facilities. Separate timings have also been allocated for men and women.
According to officials, men can use the park from midnight to 5am and from 1pm to 3pm, while women can use the facility from 5am to 3pm.
The park was developed at an estimated cost of around Rs. 50 million. Construction work included land preparation and leveling, precast kerbstones, tuff pavers, landscaping and plantation, seating areas, gazebos, a fountain, electrical and sanitary installations, and separate washrooms for men and women.
Chaudhry Salik Hussain said special attention would also be given to the maintenance of the park and the continued provision of facilities for the public.
