Metro53 - LAHORE (Web Desk): Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Captain (retd.) Safdar Awan has responded to criticism against him over a controversy related to the bar elections, saying that personal remarks would not force him to withdraw his position.

Speaking during a podcast hosted by Farrukh Shahbaz Waraich, Captain Safdar said he had raised a question regarding the degree of a candidate, but the matter was subsequently taken to discussions about his family and marriage.

He maintained that when questions are raised about an individual's eligibility, the appropriate response should be through documents and the law rather than by bringing personal matters into the discussion.

Captain Safdar said he would not withdraw his stance and was prepared to present the matter before the court. He added that if his allegation could not be proven, he would be answerable before the law. However, if evidence supported his claim, the relevant institutions should take legal action.

He further said the issue was not a matter of personal enmity for him, but concerned eligibility and adherence to the law within the bar and judicial system.
