Metro53 - FAISALABAD (Web Desk): Anam Bibi, a woman who was previously linked to the controversial ‘Umairi’ video that circulated widely on social media, has reportedly been killed in Faisalabad in what is being described in circulating reports as a possible honour-related incident.

According to claims circulating on social media, Anam Bibi allegedly died after being attacked by her father. Police have reportedly launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death, while her body was shifted to a hospital for medico-legal examination.
The reported death has brought renewed attention to the controversy surrounding the so-called ‘Umairi’ video, which became a widely discussed subject on Pakistani social media earlier this year. The material was allegedly associated with Anam Bibi and a man identified as Umair Butt, who is also known online as “Umairi.”
According to reports, the alleged footage was private in nature and was circulated across various social media platforms, triggering widespread discussion and reaction. Some reports claimed that the material contained conversations concerning personal and family matters, including references to marriage.
As the controversy gained attention, posts and searches related to the alleged video reportedly spread across platforms including TikTok, X and Instagram. A number of links claiming to contain the complete footage also circulated online. However, users and some accounts reportedly warned that several such links could be misleading or designed primarily to generate clicks.
The controversy also reportedly led to law-enforcement action in Faisalabad and Gujranwala. According to the information available, Umair Butt was reportedly arrested under Section 496-B of the Pakistan Penal Code, while the woman associated with the controversy was also reportedly taken into custody.
The latest reports about Anam Bibi’s death have added another development to a controversy that had already attracted significant attention online. Police are reportedly investigating the circumstances of her death, including the allegation that it may have been an honour-related killing.
At present, the circumstances surrounding the reported death, the motive and the allegations against the suspected individuals remain subject to investigation and official confirmation.
