Metro53 - Senior leader of PML-N, Chaudhry Abid Raza Kotla, has responded to the criticism of Pakistan’s defeat in the Asia Cup 2025 final, particularly targeting fast bowler Haris Rauf.
He said that while the anger and disappointment of the Pakistani people is justified, it is equally important to stand with our players in difficult times.
He noted that in the previous match, Haris Rauf’s “6-0” gesture was a reminder to the Indian team of their bitter past, something they could not tolerate. That is why, according to him, the Indian batting lineup specifically targeted Haris Rauf in the final. Unfortunately, the day did not go in Pakistan’s favor, but, he stressed, one performance does not define or diminish the greatness of a player.
Chaudhry Abid Raza stated that Haris Rauf is the pride of the nation, and right now, what he needs most is encouragement and confidence, not criticism and negativity.
“The greatness of nations does not come only from victories, but from standing by their warriors,” he said, appealing to the people to avoid adopting a negative attitude in emotional moments and instead boost the morale of their national heroes so they can return stronger to represent the country.
