Metro53 - The Crime Control Division (CCD) team of Gujrat Police killed two most-wanted and dangerous criminals in two separate police encounters last night.

The operations were led by Inspectors Adnan Ahmed Tarrar and Shahid Hasnain Gondal. The first encounter took place near Hanjra Bridge on University Road, Gujrat, where a notorious cattle thief and dacoit, Shahid Pervaiz son of Irshad Ahmed, resident of Langa village, Tehsil & District Gujrat, was killed in police firing. According to police sources, more than 60 criminal cases had been registered against him, and he had already been declared a proclaimed offender in four cases. He had been challaned in different courts across Gujrat, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujranwala, Jhelum, Sialkot, and Hafizabad. Shahid Pervaiz was the ringleader of an inter-district cattle theft gang and was also involved in armed robberies.

The second encounter occurred the same night near Nat Tobba village, where police killed another extremely dangerous criminal, Zeeshan Aslam son of Muhammad Aslam, resident of Kunjah, District Gujrat. This operation was led by Inspector Shahid Hasnain Gondal, Incharge of Lalamusa Circle. Zeeshan Aslam was involved in more than two dozen serious crimes and had been declared a proclaimed offender in five cases. He was the leader of another inter-district criminal gang, with activities spanning Sargodha, Khushab, and Gujrat districts.

Police officials said that with the killing of these two hardened criminals, a significant decline in crimes — especially cattle theft and armed robberies — is expected in the region.
