Metro53 - Mumbai (Web Desk) — The Indian Premier League (IPL) has closed its doors to three English cricketers, including star all-rounder Ben Stokes. According to sources, the trio will not be allowed to participate in next year’s IPL mini-auction due to regulatory restrictions.

Status of Stokes and Other Cricketers
Ben Stokes did not register for this year's mega auction, automatically ruling him out of next year’s mini-auction as well. Harry Brook withdrew his name from the 2025 season citing personal reasons, rendering him ineligible. Jason Roy also did not register for the 2025 auction and had opted out of the 2024 edition, which means he, too, cannot take part in the upcoming auction.

Decisions by Other Players
South Africa’s Faf du Plessis and England’s Moeen Ali have chosen the Pakistan Super League (PSL) over the IPL. Similarly, Australia’s Glenn Maxwell has also decided to skip the IPL.

These decisions ensure the absence of several top international players from the IPL mini-auction, which may influence team strategies. Their absence could open doors for emerging talent, giving fans a chance to witness new faces on the big stage.
