Metro53 - Gujrat (Web Desk) — Assistant Commissioners in Sarai Alamgir and Kharian conducted surprise inspections of wedding halls, taking strict action against violations of the one-dish policy. According to the district administration, the purpose of this initiative is to ensure full compliance with government regulations and discourage extravagant spending.
In Sarai Alamgir, Assistant Commissioner Farooq Azam visited several wedding venues, where clear violations were found at Pak Marriage Hall and Fairy Land Wedding Hall. As a result, the administration imposed a total fine of Rs 100,000 on both halls. AC Farooq Azam instructed the management that no leniency will be shown in enforcing the policy.
Meanwhile, in Kharian, the Assistant Commissioner inspected Sky Ways and Rivoli wedding halls. During the inspection, Rivoli Wedding Hall was found violating the one-dish policy, leading to a fine of Rs 50,000. The Assistant Commissioner emphasized that no wedding hall will be allowed to serve additional dishes in violation of government directives.
The district administration reiterated that strict enforcement of the one-dish policy will continue. Violators will face not only fines but also further legal action. According to officials, these measures aim to protect the public from unnecessary expenses and ensure uniform implementation of the policy across all venues.
