PCB Chairman Announces International Matches at Muzaffarabad Stadium

Metro53 - Islamabad (Web Desk): Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has announced that international cricket matches will be held at Muzaffarabad Stadium.

According to details, a PCB Board of Governors (BoG) meeting was held via video link under the chairmanship of Mohsin Naqvi.

During the meeting, formal approval was granted for the second phase of renovation of the National Cricket Stadium Karachi. Approval was also given to upgrade the LCCA Ground on the pattern of the Oval Ground.

The meeting praised PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi and his team for their hard work and professionalism following the successful PSL roadshows held in London and New York.

Tribute was also paid to the personal efforts of the PCB Chairman for ensuring the continuation of the Sri Lankan team’s recent tour. A resolution of appreciation was unanimously passed by the BoG members to express gratitude to Mohsin Naqvi.

Speaking on the occasion, Mohsin Naqvi said that the credit for continuing the Sri Lankan team’s tour did not go to him alone but to the entire team. He added that sincere efforts were made and Allah Almighty granted success.

He further stated that the success of the PSL roadshows was the collective success of the PCB and PSL teams, noting that tireless efforts were made day and night to make the PSL an international brand.

Mohsin Naqvi said that every effort would be made to host PSL 11 matches at Muzaffarabad Stadium, adding that international matches would also be organized at the venue.

The PCB Chairman also announced that a state-of-the-art cricket stadium would be constructed in Islamabad.

Earlier, the meeting was briefed that a renowned private firm had started the scrutiny of clubs at the regional level. PSL Chief Executive Officer Salman Naseer briefed the meeting on PSL roadshows.

The Board of Governors was also briefed on upcoming ICC women’s and men’s cricket tournaments, as well as measures to strengthen the domestic cricket structure and increase the number of tournaments and matches at the grassroots level.

BoG members Ismail Qureshi, Tariq Sarwar, Sajjad Ali Khokhar, Anwar Ghani, Zaheer Abbas, and Tanveer Ahmed attended the meeting.

Zafarullah, Mustafa Ramday, Adnan Malik, the Additional Secretary of the Cabinet Division, PCB Chief Operating Officer Sameer Ahmed, and PSL CEO Salman Naseer were also present, along with the Chief Financial Officer, Directors of Infrastructure, Domestic Cricket, Commercial departments, and other relevant officials.
