Metro53 - Lahore (Web Desk): Punjab Minister for Information and Culture Azma Bukhari has said that they are fully prepared for local government elections and are waiting for the announcement of the election date.

Speaking on a private TV channel Geo News’ morning program, she said that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has won all by-elections in Punjab. She added that the party wants local government elections to be held as soon as possible so that the opposition can be shown the way out.

The provincial minister said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has every democratic right to exercise protest, but a list of 30 people had been submitted to enter the Punjab Assembly. She added that the assembly was not a public square where anyone could enter at will.

Azma Bukhari stated that those who came along pushed security guards, broke doors, and forcibly entered the assembly. She questioned why they could not carry out political activities in a civilized manner.

She further said that despite the language used within the assembly premises, the government did not react. She alleged that Shafi Jan used inappropriate language against Mohsin Naqvi in the service area.

She said that if the government had taken action, it would have been accused of mistreating guests, and if vehicles had been checked, it would have been termed an insult. She added that even ignoring their rude behavior and offensive remarks is portrayed as a crime by the opposition.

The Punjab Information Minister said that they had come to Lahore on a study tour and did not feel like leaving. She added that this was not a political party, that it does not believe in negotiations, and that it only seeks an NRO.
