Metro53 - Gujrat (Web Desk) – Gujrat police continued their operations against drug dealers and illegal arms holders, arresting 12 suspects from various areas.
During the raids, authorities recovered 1,400 grams of hashish, 35 liters of alcohol, and various rifles and firearms.
Under the guidance of DPO Gujrat Rana Umar Farooq and supervision of DSP Kharian Circle Chaudhry Shahid Mehmood, SHO Dinga Police Station SI Aslam Hanjrane and his team conducted intelligence-based raids at multiple locations. Three suspects were arrested and 30 liters of alcohol were seized. Another raid led to the recovery of 1,400 grams of hashish from suspect Israr Ahmed, while rifles were seized from Muhammad Asim and Hamza, and a 44-bore firearm from Nazer Muhammad, also known as Sanwal.
Similarly, SHO Kikrali and SI Tahir Zaman seized a 30-bore firearm from suspects Raheel Asim and Noman Younis. Meanwhile, SHO Galyana Inspector Abbas Shah recovered a 12-bore firearm from suspect Sufyan, also known as Mana, and 5 liters of alcohol from Shehzad Khawar. FIRs have been registered against all suspects, and investigations are ongoing.
Police stated that the operation aims to curb drug trafficking and illegal weapons use in the region and ensure the safety of citizens. Authorities emphasized that such operations will continue throughout the district to maintain law and order and bring offenders to justice.
