Accountability Court Seeks NAB Response on Confiscation of Chaudhry Monis Elahi’s Assets

Metro53 - Gujrat (Web Desk) – The Accountability Court in Lahore has sought a response from the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on a petition challenging the confiscation of assets belonging to proclaimed offender Monis Elahi in a corruption reference related to development projects in Gujrat.

The hearing was conducted by Judge Rana Muhammad Arif in the reference filed against former Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi and other accused. Former Principal Secretary of the Punjab Assembly Muhammad Khan Bhatti and other accused appeared in court.

During the proceedings, NAB also submitted a supplementary reference concerning new accused Salman Ahmed, after which the court provided copies of the supplementary reference to all defendants.

The court adjourned the hearing after requesting NAB to submit a written reply regarding the petition challenging Monis Elahi’s asset confiscation. The petition was filed by Monis Elahi’s mother, Qaisra Elahi, who is acting as his legal representative.

The next hearing of the reference has been scheduled for January 8. NAB has filed the case against former Punjab CM Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi and others over alleged misuse of authority and corruption.
