Metro53 - Rawalpindi (Web Desk): Sister of PTI founder Imran Khan, Alima Khan, has said that the public stands firmly with Imran Khan and vowed that he will be taken out of jail, warning that the entire country will be shut down if necessary.

Speaking to the media outside the court, Alima Khan said that warrants had been issued against her, but the judge went on leave on the day of the hearing. She added that they had requested time until Monday, but their plea was not heard. She stated that they would now sit outside Adiala Jail not for a meeting, but for the release of Imran Khan, saying that enough is enough and his release is the voice of the nation.

Alima Khan announced that on Tuesday, January 13, a Khatm-e-Quran will be held outside Adiala Jail. She said thousands of copies of the Holy Quran will be brought and collective recitation will take place, followed by prayers for martyrs, prisoners, and Pakistan.

She said the Sindh government acted wisely by granting permission for a rally and welcomed the decision. In contrast, she accused the Punjab government of being a “mandate thief” and committing oppression, claiming that a PTI worker was killed after a raid on his house in Lahore. She added that she appeared in court today, but the hearing was adjourned.

Alima Khan stated that the PTI founder is being kept in solitary confinement and the family does not know his condition. She alleged that the government is unwilling to comply with court orders and that there is no effective forum left to present their case. She further claimed that cases involving Bushra Bibi and the PTI founder are deliberately not being fixed to prevent bail.

Referring to Mahmood Khan Achakzai’s call for February 8, Alima Khan said that the entire country would be shut down and questioned why the PTI founder is being kept in solitary confinement. She asserted that Imran Khan is the voice of the people and claimed that the police, army, public, and bureaucracy stand with him, adding that corruption cases against him are a joke.

She concluded by saying that prayers would be offered to Allah, as no plan can prevail over Allah’s plan. She alleged that despite peaceful protests on November 26, people were fired upon, warning that the government would be responsible if violence continues. She urged authorities not to interfere with public protests and welcomed the Sindh government’s decision not to block roads, while criticizing Punjab for doing so due to what she termed a lack of public mandate.
