Metro53 - Gujrat (Web Desk): The Gujrat Saddar Police, through timely and effective action, have arrested three members of the Zahira Gang involved in theft and robbery incidents. The police recovered cash of PKR 175,000 stolen from citizens and illegal weapons used in the crimes.
According to reports, under the directives of DPO Gujrat Rana Umar Farooq, comprehensive and impartial operations against criminals, thieves, and robbers are ongoing across the district. In this operation, under the supervision of DSP Saddar Circle Rai Sarfraz Yousaf, SHO Saddar Jalalpur Jattan Shafqat Mahmood, SI, and their police team employed modern scientific technology and professional expertise to apprehend this dangerous gang.
The arrested suspects were involved in multiple theft and robbery cases. During the operation, the stolen cash of PKR 175,000 was recovered and returned to the victims, who appreciated and thanked the Gujrat Police for their prompt action.
The arrested individuals include Zaheer Abbas alias Zahira, resident of Jora Jalalpur; Noman Rafiq, son of Muhammad Rafiq, resident of Malik Pur Chara; and Waqar Younis, son of Muhammad Siddique, resident of Kharian. Two 30-bore pistols used in the crimes were also recovered from the suspects.
Police officials stated that further investigation is ongoing, and the suspects may be linked to other criminal incidents. DPO Gujrat praised the police team’s performance and emphasized that operations against criminal elements will continue relentlessly to ensure law and order in the district.
