Metro53 - Gujrat (Web Desk): District Police Officer (DPO) Gujrat Rana Umar Farooq visited the University of Gujrat, where he held a special meeting with Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Zahoor-ul-Haq. During the meeting, detailed discussions were held regarding the establishment of a Police Facilitation Center on the university campus.
According to details, the primary objective of the proposed Police Facilitation Center is to provide police-related services to students, faculty members, and administrative staff within the university premises. Once established, the center will offer facilities such as police clearance, character certificates, registration of complaints, and other legal and security-related services, saving students and staff from unnecessary visits to police stations.
Speaking on the occasion, DPO Rana Umar Farooq said that the purpose of setting up police facilitation centers in educational institutions is to reduce the gap between youth and the police and to build an environment of trust. He emphasized that the police believe in the concept of public service, and establishing such a center at a major educational institution like the University of Gujrat would prove to be a positive and effective step.
Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Zahoor-ul-Haq appreciated the police initiative and said that the university administration is taking all possible measures to facilitate students and staff. He expressed hope that the establishment of the Police Facilitation Center would not only provide immediate relief to students but also improve overall security and discipline on campus.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Zahoor-ul-Haq presented an honorary shield to DPO Gujrat Rana Umar Farooq on behalf of the university, for which the DPO expressed his gratitude to the university administration.
According to university and police officials, practical steps regarding the establishment of the Police Facilitation Center will be completed in the coming days, after which the center will formally begin its services.
