Metro53 - Dubai (Web Desk): The International Cricket Council (ICC) has decided to include another team in the T20 World Cup if Bangladesh does not travel to India for the tournament.
According to a cricket website, the ICC has finalized its decision regarding Bangladesh’s participation in the T20 World Cup amid uncertainty over the team’s visit to India.
The website reported that the matter was discussed during an ICC Board Members’ meeting, where a decision regarding Bangladesh was taken. The ICC clarified that if the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) informs its government that the team will not be sent to India, Bangladesh will be replaced by another team in the World Cup.
According to the report, an ICC Board Members’ meeting was held today to discuss the Bangladesh issue. The decision to include a new team in the World Cup was made through voting during the meeting.
The website further stated that a majority of board members voted in favor of including a replacement team. However, the ICC has given the Bangladesh Cricket Board one additional day to reconsider and make a final decision regarding playing in India.
