Metro53 - Peshawar (Web Desk): Special Assistant to the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for Information, Shafee Jan, has clarified that the proposed force formed for the release of PTI founder Imran Khan will not be a political wing and will automatically be dissolved once Imran Khan is released.
Speaking in a private TV program Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada Kay Saath, hosted by Shahzeb Khanzada, Shafee Jan said that the party is reviewing its protest strategy and will return with a new plan after the holy month of Ramadan. He added that various options regarding protests are currently under consideration in view of the prevailing situation.
He explained that the “PTI Founder Release Force” will be established in the context of a street movement. Formal membership will be granted, and members will be required to take an oath. According to him, holding any specific political office will not be necessary to join the force, and ordinary citizens will also be eligible to become part of it.
Shafee Jan rejected the impression that the initiative is part of any secret political strategy. He stated that no backdoor contacts have taken place to end protests, nor has any covert deal been made with any party.
It is noteworthy that earlier, Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sohail Afridi had announced the formation of a special force for the release of Imran Khan, which sparked debate in political circles. The provincial government maintains that the initiative will remain within constitutional and democratic boundaries.
