Metro53 - Lahore (Web Desk): President of the Pakistan Hockey Federation, Tariq Bugti, has announced his resignation from office.

Speaking to the media in Lahore, Tariq Bugti said that he has sent his resignation to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. He appealed to the Prime Minister and the Field Marshal to form a committee to investigate the matter.

Tariq Bugti held the Pakistan Sports Board responsible for mismanagement and announced a two-year ban on Imad Shakeel Butt from domestic and international hockey.

He stated that funds for the Pro Hockey League were available with the Pakistan Sports Board, but the board completely failed to manage affairs. According to him, the Pakistan Hockey Federation did not have sufficient funds to handle all arrangements at that time, and due to PSB’s failure, the national team faced serious issues during the Australia tour.

Bugti further said that the Pakistan Sports Board did not release hotel booking payments on time during the Australia tour. He claimed that he personally visited the PSB office to request the release of funds but was told it would take two months.

Highlighting achievements during his tenure, Tariq Bugti said Pakistan’s world ranking improved from 18th to 13th position, calling it a major achievement. He expressed confidence that the national team would perform well in the upcoming qualification round.
