Metro53 - LAHORE (Web Desk): The biggest commercial deal in the history of Pakistan cricket has been finalized, as the four-year media rights of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) have been sold for Rs26 billion to Walee Technologies.

According to details, three bidders were in contention for the media rights. Walee Technologies secured the deal by offering a bid three billion rupees higher than the reserve price.

It is likely that PSL matches will be broadcast on the state-run television network, potentially bringing the tournament back to a wider national audience. Meanwhile, two major sports channels were disqualified from the bidding process after failing to clear outstanding dues despite being given ample time for payment.

Last year, 34 matches were played in the PSL season. With the inclusion of two new teams, the total number of matches is expected to increase to 44, further expanding the tournament’s reach and commercial value.
