In recent raids, three suspects were arrested, and large quantities of alcohol and kites were recovered. Authorities say these operations are part of ongoing efforts to curb crime and improve law and order.
Police-Led Operations
The actions were carried out under the guidance of Rana Umar Farooq, District Police Officer (DPO) Gujrat, and supervised by Dr. Mumtaz Ahmed Maken, DSP Sarai Alamgir Circle. Various police stations participated in joint operations.
In one raid, suspect Mohammad Waqi from Dhal was arrested, and five liters of alcohol were recovered. Another raid led to the arrest of Ahsan Mahmood, also found in possession of five liters of alcohol. Both suspects are facing separate cases under the Narcotics Act.
Action Against Kite Selling
Separately, SHO Thana Bolani, Ghulam Rasool, led a raid in which Mohammad Ismail from Dhok Shahani was arrested. Authorities recovered a large number of kites from him. Punjab has strict regulations against kite flying and the sale of related items due to past accidents caused by metallic kite strings.

Local residents have praised the police efforts and urged that such operations be conducted consistently to maintain and improve peace and security in the area.
