Metro53 - Mumbai (Web Desk) – Indian YouTuber Dharuv Rathi has strongly criticized Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra for remaining silent during the Oscars 2026 event while Spanish actor Javier Bardem raised his voice in support of Palestine.
A viral video from the ceremony shows Javier Bardem chanting pro-Palestine slogans while Priyanka Chopra appeared to smile awkwardly and stay silent. In an Instagram video, Dharuv Rathi stated that remaining neutral is the real problem, and humanity is demonstrated when one takes a stand even from afar.
Rathi further commented that most Bollywood actors are either fearful or self-interested, often overthinking whether taking a moral stance might affect their connections with powerful individuals. He added that Priyanka Chopra, being a UN ambassador, should have expressed her position on such a simple moral issue, otherwise the relevance of her role comes into question.
