Metro53 - GUJRAT (Web Desk) – A key meeting was held at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office to review the progress of the anti-polio campaign, chaired by focal person for polio and Member of Provincial Assembly Uzma Kardar.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Noor-ul-Ain Qureshi, SP Mehr Riaz Naz, ADCG Saba Sehar, AC Abdul Qadeer Zarkoon, CEO Health Dr. Syed Ata-ul-Munim, along with other district officials and media representatives. Detailed discussions were held regarding the campaign’s performance and arrangements.

The CEO Health, during the briefing, stated that the campaign will continue from April 13 to April 16, with a target of administering polio drops to 508,066 children.

According to officials, a total of 2,369 teams have been formed across 119 union councils in the district, including 2,208 mobile teams, 122 fixed points, and 33 transit points to ensure access to every child.

Regarding the first day’s performance, it was shared that a target of 169,356 children was set, achieving 101% outdoor coverage and 92% door-to-door coverage. Remaining children will be covered during catch-up days.

Focal person Uzma Kardar directed that 100% coverage must be ensured during the campaign and no child should be left without vaccination. The Deputy Commissioner emphasized foolproof security arrangements for the teams to ensure uninterrupted operations.

The meeting was also attended by DSP Naeem, Dr. Syed Aitizaz, Dr. Usman Naeem, and World Health Organization representative Dr. Sadaf. Authorities reaffirmed their commitment to utilizing all available resources to make the district polio-free.
