Metro53 - ISLAMABAD: Chief Officer of the Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad, Anum Fatima, was awarded the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz by President Asif Ali Zardari at a ceremony held at Aiwan-e-Sadr, drawing renewed public attention to her rapid rise within the bureaucracy over the past two years.
According to official details, Anum Fatima served as the Returning Officer (RO) for PP-158 Lahore during the 2024 general elections. The constituency gained national attention after the nomination papers of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf candidate Chaudhry Moonis Elahi were rejected during the scrutiny process.
Following the elections, Anum Fatima was promoted and currently holds multiple senior positions simultaneously, including Deputy Director General Enforcement, Director Municipal Administration Islamabad, and Chief Officer of the Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad.
Her appointment to several key administrative roles at the same time has sparked debate on social media and in political circles, with critics questioning the concentration of responsibilities under a single official.
Government circles, however, have described the award as recognition of her administrative services and professional performance in public office.
