Metro53 - Jhelum: Police have arrested two suspects accused of assaulting a labourer and humiliating him by forcibly cutting his hair, moustache, and beard after he demanded payment for his work.
According to details, the incident occurred in Jhelum, where a daily wage worker was allegedly subjected to physical violence and public humiliation after asking for his outstanding wages. The accused reportedly assaulted the labourer and cut his hair and facial hair in an act described as degrading and insulting.
A spokesperson for Jhelum Police said that upon receiving information about the incident, District Police Officer Shafiq Ahmed Chaudhry took immediate notice and directed the concerned officers to initiate prompt legal action.
Acting on the DPO’s instructions, the police registered a case and launched an investigation. Using modern investigative techniques, officers traced and arrested both suspects within a short period of time.
Police stated that further legal proceedings against the accused are underway.
Commenting on the case, DPO Shafiq Ahmed Chaudhry said that Jhelum Police are committed to protecting the lives, property, dignity, and honour of citizens. He emphasized that acts of violence, humiliation, vigilantism, and taking the law into one's own hands will not be tolerated.
He further assured that strict action will continue against those involved and that the victim will be provided justice in accordance with the law.
