Metro53 - JHELUM: Armed motorcycle-riding suspects allegedly robbed police personnel in broad daylight in the Kala Gujran area of Jhelum, snatching official weapons and fleeing the scene, according to police sources.
The incident occurred while police officers were conducting routine patrol duties. Officials said the armed suspects intercepted the officers, held them hostage at gunpoint, and seized their government-issued weapons along with the key to their motorcycle before escaping.
The daring robbery sparked concern in the area, prompting police to launch an immediate search operation to track down the suspects.
Police sources revealed that CCTV footage from various locations has been obtained and reviewed. Investigators have reportedly identified one of the suspects, who is said to be a proclaimed offender wanted in multiple criminal cases and believed to be a resident of Sarai Alamgir.
The CCTV footage reportedly shows the suspects fleeing the scene on a motorcycle after carrying out the robbery.
