Metro53 - JHELUM: Police have arrested a proclaimed offender wanted in a case involving the alleged illegal occupation of a citizen’s house after forcibly entering the property, officials said.
According to a spokesperson for Jhelum Police, the Station House Officer (SHO) of Kala Gujran Police Station and his team carried out a successful operation, tracing and arresting the suspect who had been evading law enforcement for an extended period.
Police officials stated that the accused was located through the use of modern scientific investigation techniques and intelligence-based information. Acting on the leads, the police team conducted a targeted operation and successfully apprehended the suspect.
Legal proceedings against the accused have been initiated, while further investigations are underway. Authorities are also completing the necessary formalities to present the suspect before the court.
District Police Officer (DPO) Shafiq Ahmed Chaudhry said that Jhelum Police continues to take indiscriminate action against proclaimed offenders, land grabbers, and other lawbreakers.
He emphasized that protecting the lives, property, dignity, and rights of citizens remains the police department’s foremost responsibility. He added that no individual would be allowed to take the law into their own hands or illegally occupy another person's property.
The DPO further stated that the crackdown against land-grabbing groups and criminal elements would be intensified to ensure public safety and the provision of justice to citizens.
