Lahore Police Suspend Entire Ghaziabad Station Staff After Alleged Assault Case Involving ASI

Metro53 - Lahore: The entire staff of Ghaziabad Police Station, including the Station House Officer (SHO), has been suspended following an alleged sexual assault case involving the mentally disabled daughter of an assistant sub-inspector (ASI).

According to local media reports, DIG Operations Faisal Kamran visited the police station late at night and ordered the suspensions after finding delays in action and a failure to keep senior officers informed.

SHO Shehryar was suspended and replaced by Ali Zaib Dastgir. The disciplinary action also included the suspension of two sub-inspectors, eight assistant sub-inspectors (ASIs), five head constables, front desk personnel, the station clerk, drivers, and other staff, bringing the total number of suspended officials to 78.

Police also registered a case regarding the suspension proceedings against the Ghaziabad Police Station staff.

According to the police, an investigation ASI, identified as عمران (Imran), was arrested after a case was registered against him over allegations that he sexually assaulted a mentally disabled girl two days earlier. The allegations are under investigation, and legal proceedings are ongoing.
