Metro53 - GUJRAT: Defeated Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) candidate Chaudhry Akbar Ibrahim has questioned the outcome of the LA-38 election, alleging that the result reflects electoral irregularities and calling for greater scrutiny of the polling process.

Speaking after the announcement of the results, Mr Ibrahim claimed that the election outcome supported concerns previously raised over the conduct of polling in Punjab. He also referred to an earlier statement by Rana Sanaullah regarding 10 seats in the province, asserting that subsequent developments had reinforced those remarks.

The PML-Q leader further said that the position taken by the Joint Action Committee regarding alleged irregularities in Punjab had gained credibility in light of the election results.

Mr Ibrahim, however, did not present evidence to substantiate his allegations. Election authorities have not publicly responded to his claims, and no official finding has confirmed any irregularities in the LA-38 constituency.

The election result has added to the political debate in Punjab, with rival parties continuing to exchange allegations over the transparency of the electoral process. Any claims of electoral malpractice remain subject to investigation and determination by the relevant election authorities and courts.
