Metro53 - GUJRAT (Web Desk): In line with the Punjab government’s vision of providing relief to citizens at their doorstep, Gujranwala and Gujrat Division Commissioner Muhammad Ali, accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Gujrat Noor-ul-Ain Qureshi, held an open court at the Municipal Committee Office in Kharian to hear and resolve public complaints.
A total of 20 applications were submitted by citizens during the open court, covering issues related to various government departments. Commissioner Muhammad Ali personally heard the complaints and directed the relevant officials to take immediate action and ensure timely resolution. One application was related to the police, while the remaining complaints concerned different government departments.
The commissioner said the primary objective of open courts is to provide citizens with direct access to officials and resolve their problems without requiring them to make repeated visits to government offices. He added that open courts are being held across all tehsils on the directions of the Punjab government to ensure timely resolution of public grievances.
Commissioner Muhammad Ali also directed Deputy Commissioner Noor-ul-Ain Qureshi, Additional Deputy Commissioner Revenue Waqas and assistant commissioners to follow an open-door policy and ensure prompt action on citizens’ complaints.
Speaking to the media later, the commissioner also discussed key civic issues in Kharian, including parking problems, removal of encroachments and the condition of roads. He directed the relevant departments to accelerate efforts to address these issues.
He further stated that officials have been instructed to take immediate action on all applications received during the open court, while progress on the complaints will also be monitored.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Revenue Gujrat Waqas Safdar Sikandari, Assistant Commissioner Kharian Ahmed Sher Gondal, Additional Assistant Commissioner Kharian Muhammad Waqas, Chief Officer Municipal Committee Kharian Chaudhry Khawar Gujjar, CEO Health Dr. Syed Iftikhar Ahmed, and other district and tehsil-level officials also attended the open court.
