Metro53 - Gujrat (Web Desk) — In light of the rising smog and environmental pollution in Gujrat, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Noorulain Qureshi chaired an important meeting to review the ongoing anti-smog measures in the district. The session brought together representatives from various departments to assess the progress and effectiveness of current initiatives.
According to local media news channel, District Officer Environment Usama Majid gave a detailed briefing on the steps taken so far. The meeting was attended by Secretary RTA Saddam Hussain, RFO Rashid Chattha, DSP Gujrat, Executive Engineer Highways, Motorway Police Inspector, Traffic Inspector, and other officials from related departments.
DC Noorulain directed all departments to take immediate and coordinated action to curb smog. She emphasized that interdepartmental communication and an effective strategy are essential for achieving meaningful results.
Highlighting the role of the community, she said that administrative efforts alone cannot succeed without the cooperation of citizens. “Government initiatives will only be effective when people also fulfill their responsibilities toward protecting the environment,” she stated.
The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment from all departments to intensify enforcement against environmental violations and to promote awareness among the public about the dangers of smog and pollution.
