Metro53 - Gujrat (Web Desk):On the directions of DPO Rana Umar Farooq, a comprehensive mock exercise was conducted at various educational institutions across the district, aimed at further strengthening the law and order situation and assessing the professional preparedness of police and allied departments in emergency situations.
The special drill witnessed active participation from Police, CTD, Elite Force, Rescue 1122, Bomb Disposal Squad, Traffic Police, and other relevant teams. During the exercise, a simulated terrorist attack scenario was created, under which a complete security inspection of a school building was carried out and an immediate response to the presence of suspicious individuals was demonstrated.
The Elite Force showcased rapid action and building-clearing operations, while Rescue 1122 teams demonstrated the swift evacuation of injured persons, provision of first aid, and emergency medical assistance. Meanwhile, the Bomb Disposal Squad conducted safety sweeps and search operations to assess potential explosive threats.
The Traffic Police also practically demonstrated arrangements for traffic diversion and provision of alternate routes during emergencies to prevent congestion and ensure smooth movement in the event of any untoward incident.
